Very Proud Parents!

Yesterday was Parents evening for Neva and Kaide, in the eleven years that we have been attending their little village primary school we have had nothing but glowing reports from Xene, Lochlan, Neva and Kaide, today was no exception.

I sometimes wonder when I am listening to their teachers if they have got my children confused with someone else, they sit quietly and attentively, they are helpful and do everything that is asked of them, they are all model pupils! I wonder if I employ one of their teachers at home they would tidy up with no fuss...

I have nothing but praise for their school, (they have pretty great governors too!!) and think that my children's achievements prove what excellent staff they have, as well as fabulous children.

Well Done Neva and Kaide we are very proud of you xxx

Pregnancy Diary - Week 14

So, I have decided to keep a pregnancy diary as I have been hopeless at recording things with the other children, thank goodness for blogging!!

According to the pregnancy books 'wiggly' is now 8-9cm long - half the size of a Banana... The fingerprints have now developed, how amazing is that!!

I may start to become forgetful, haha thats funny, I have been forgetful for the last 15 years, in fact, ever since I fell pregnant with Xene I feel like I have been in a pregnancy fog!

Apparently my bump isn't supposed to be very noticeable yet, well after already having six babies, I can definitely tell you the bump is most definitely there.

I have started to feel a little less sick and have managed a few cups of tea in the past week, something I have not drunk for the last 10 weeks.

I am hoping that the second trimester pregnancy bloom will kick in shortly (please, please).
I have an appointment with the consultant on 19th march to discuss the possibility of having a homebirth, this is my preferred choice as my homebirth with Tyrus was amazing, I know they become more worried, the more children you have but I already have my strategies in place to help me achieve another successful home delivery, so fingers crossed they will agree.
I am also being a case study for one of the mums at school who is undertaking her midwifery qualification, so I have my own personal birthing coach which is fabulous.

My 20 week scan is booked for 24th April, just after the easter holidays, so I am guessing the next six weeks will fly by.

I was thinking of posting a picture of my bump, but to be quite honest it doesn't look all that inspiring yet!!

Looking forward to Summer Evenings

With the evenings slowly starting to get lighter and hopefully warmer, the chickens are going to bed later, which means it won't be long until we can start thinking about Garden Parties, a thing we love in the warm summer months.
We are very fortunate to have a rather large garden, which does mean that any family birthdays or gatherings usually take place at our house!! (that, and the fact I dread the thought of transporting all six children and their belongings to someone else's house)

The first three children were born in April meaning garden parties were a bit hit and miss with the weather, then we had a September and November, finally little Tyrus was born in June, so I can guarantee his 2nd birthday Party will be an outdoor affair!

We love to have barbecues as they are just the perfect summer food, quick and easy to do, although the only problem that we have is, we are in a small rural village with no street lights, so Outdoor Lighting is essential, towards the end of the evening, the back of our garden gets VERY dark without illumination!! I can remember going to a friends 21st birthday party that started in the afternoon and was lovely, however as the evening drew in, there was no lighting in the garden and it became increasingly difficult to see any other guests (so make sure there is light!!)

So, for the perfect Summer Garden Party you need :

- Excellent Company
- Nice warm weather
- Good food and Drink
- Outside Lighting
- Somewhere to sit down
- A couple of blankets towards the end of the evening, when it gets a little chilly.

All I can say is, roll on the summer evenings....

This is a featured post as we LOVE the summer and garden parties.

We Are Back !!

Just after Christmas all six of the children came down with a VERY nasty bug of high temperature and headaches, it was awful. At the end of January they had all seemed to recover and then I began to get ill, but not the same, I was tired all of the time and being sick, due to the time of year I put it down to some winter vomiting virus, how wrong was I ?

It wasn't a bug but my body beginning to make room for a lodger for the next 40 weeks....

It was a bit of a shock as I really had not planned on having any more children, made worse by the fact I had not had any women's monthly visits since Tyrus was born 20 months ago, therefore I had no idea how pregnant I was, or when it was due.

I have NEVER been sick or nauseous with any of the other children, and I have spent many hours sleeping. With my increased age and six previous babies, there was a chance that it could be twins, thankfully when we had the scan on Wednesday it revealed just the one little baby, who Eowyn has named wiggly, which seems to have been adopted by everyone, so Wiggly Morrison is due on 5th September 2013.

We have decided not to find out the sex at the next scan and I would very much like another home birth, so we shall just have to see what the consultant says.

As I was adamant that we were not having anymore children I have given away every piece of baby equipment that I owned, so I guess it will be starting from scratch.....

So that is the reason we have been so quiet since the beginning of 2013, as I am just approaching the second trimester I am waiting for the increased energy, glossy hair etc, I guess we shall have to wait and see.
