2014 begins another educational chapter in the Morrison household, currently Xene is studying hard for her GCSEs, which she will be taking in just a few weeks time - how scary is that, doesn't seem like two minutes ago I was taking my own!!
After those are finished, its a LONG summer holiday and then off to College in September, Xene is very pleased as she has been offered a place at the College she had down as her first choice, so a mix of A levels and a BTEC await her.
Lochlan has taken his options form in today, after a very difficult decision, the choices that were available to Xene when she began her GCSEs two years ago have become somewhat less of a choice for Lochlan's year ! Such is the joy of the Millennium babies, they seem to be the guinea pigs for all new educational decisions...
He will have to wait a few months to see if he has been able to take his first choice of subjects.
At the beginning of March, we received the letter informing us which High School Neva would be attending in September, thankfully it is our first choice, where Xene and Lochi currently attend (good thing too, otherwise we may have had to move all of their education!!)
I still cannot believe I am going to be the mum of a college student, it only seems like yesterday she was born...
The next couple of months my diary will be filled with Open days, Parents Evenings and requests for lots of new equipment, only another year and i'm guessing it will be a little car...
Lots of changes, they grow up so quickly but I'm sure that they will all adjust to the new path ahead of them #BlogClub
ReplyDeleteLots of changes ahead. I know what you mean about taking your GCSE's, it doesn't seem 5 minutes that I was taking mine. Our school year was a guinea pig year too, luckily we all came out unscathed! #BlogClub
ReplyDeleteExciting times! The time really does go so quickly, but I do find each new stage exciting :) #BlogClub
ReplyDeleteThey grow up so quick don't they. My oldest handed his options in on Monday, and my middle son starts high school in Sept.. eekkk Then my youngest boy starts full time school, Reception - that will be hard, it always is, you have them around most of the day, then they go start full time school and you miss them all day. :(
ReplyDeletewow i just can't ever imagine getting to this stage, but then again i didn't imagine having a 5 year old and here he is!!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest starts secondary school in September also, I think I'm more nervous than him...I don't even want to think of him starting college! They grow up so quickly #blogclub
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine my children at this stage of life but I know it will come along in the blink of an eye. My daughter turns 5 next month and that still catches me by surprise! #blogclub
ReplyDeletelots of changes, it must be so weird when the kids grow older I can't quite see how I cope but cope I'll have to. well done on the kids who got all their first choices - school and college.
